    • Explanation facility - Explains why certain decisions were made by the inference engine
    • Database management - Stores, organises and retrieves data from external sources

    In recent years, advances in technology have seen more powerful algorithms being built into these systems. As such, they are now being used by many different industries ranging from medical diagnosis to oil exploration. They offer quick analysis of large amounts of data without having to involve a human expert every time.
