Dr. Ernesto Costa, Ph.D., Scientific Advisor
Ernesto Costa received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Coimbra in Portugal, where he currently serves as Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering.
Besides teaching, Ernesto has been doing research in the areas of evolutionary computation, artificial life, complex systems, machine learning, cognition and computational biology.
He is currently the Associate Editor of the International Journal of Natural Computing Research, and was the recipient of the 2009 EvoStar Award for “Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Evolutionary Computation.”
Ernesto has organized several international scientific events and has published over 150 refereed publications in books, book chapters, journals and proceedings of conferences.
Since December 2012, he is a member of the General Council of the University of Coimbra, a governing board of the university.
