Jon Wheeler, Managing Director, Ports & Logistics
As Managing Director of the Ports & Logistics business unit, Jon Wheeler is responsible for Complexica's strategic relationship with Flinders Ports and the go-to-market strategy for the ports & logistics sector in general. Having started at one of the first automated container terminals in the world, Jon has accumulated over 25 years’ experience within the port and maritime industry, holding operational, senior IT and executive roles, managing teams and projects, focusing on continuous business improvement through technology, process, safety, risk governance, and people.
Before joining Complexica, Jon was the Chief Operating Officer and head of IT for the Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) in Australia, the first fully automated container terminal in the Southern Hemisphere. He was initially responsible for designing and implementing the innovative technical infrastructure and complex software integration architecture needed to support the highly advanced automated equipment, ensuring continuing business growth. As COO, he collaborated with several senior state, federal and industry stakeholders to continue business continuity through the challenges of the pandemic, while leading the technical project execution of VICT’s expansion project.
