ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA, 1 September 2026 - Complexica Pty Ltd, a leading provider of Artificial Intelligence software for supply & demand optimisation, announced today the expansion of the team at its wholly-owned subsidiary, Wave Systems, with four appointments spanning software architecture, engineering, and business analysis.
The expansion is being driven by a growing number of WaveSCM™ deployments and by increasing customer demand across the ports and logistics sector. Since the general release of WaveSCM™, the platform has gone live with DP World Logistics at its Yennora multimodal terminal, with Ifira Ports Development Services in Vanuatu, and with Aurizon (ASX: AZJ), whose transition from TMSPro now spans more than 30 sites and an annual throughput exceeding 500,000 TEUs. Adding depth to the team allows Wave Systems to sustain that delivery pace while maintaining the standard of implementation and support its customers expect.
The appointments also strengthen the engineering bench that brings Complexica's AI-driven optimisation capabilities into the WaveSCM™ platform, across areas such as yard and transport planning, scheduling, and operational decision support.
Riky Tan
Principal Software Architect
Dr. Riky Tan has more than 15 years of experience in software development, architecture, and technical design. During his time at Complexica, he has successfully delivered software projects for major Australian brands like PFD Foods and Endeavour Drinks. Prior to joining Complexica, Riky was a software team lead for Schneider Electric, where he led large-scale software implementation projects for global companies such as BHP Billiton, Roy Hill, and Treasury Wine Estates. From 2005 to 2011, Riky was a lecturer at the University of Ballarat and the International Institute of Business Information & Technology in Adelaide, delivering IT courses specialising in programming, software engineering, and database management. Before this, he held various positions as IT Manager and System Analyst for various universities around South East Asia.
Riky holds a Ph.D. degree in Information Technology & Computing from the University of South Australia, along with a Masters of Computer Science and a Bachelor of Computer Science. Riky has carried out research and developed software in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, data mining, and information visualisation and retrieval.
Hugh Lam
Senior Business Analyst
Hugh is a Senior Business Analyst at Complexica with 16 years of industry experience spanning quality assurance, end-user training, technical documentation, and UX design. In his current role, he leads requirements gathering and scoping engagements with clients, working closely with subject matter experts to deeply understand their processes and translate that understanding into clear, audience-appropriate documentation and diagrams for both business stakeholders and development teams.
Hugh's particular strength lies in bridging the gap between complex technical concepts and the people who need to act on them — asking the right questions, validating his understanding, and ensuring nothing gets lost between the business and the team building the solution.
Liviu Ursachi
Senior Software Engineer
Liviu has 15+ years of experience in developing enterprise software, with a specialisation in Java, Spring Boot, React, and cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure. He has been developing the supply-chain planning and optimisation platform for Pernod Ricard Winemakers (PRW), covering long-term planning, winery operations, grape intake and bottling scheduling. He is also specialising in AI and LLM-driven automation, applying these technologies to streamline business workflows and integrations.
Daniel Curmei
Software Engineer
Daniel began his career as an Embedded Developer, spending three years working with embedded systems and programming before transitioning into full-stack development, where he gained experience across both frontend and backend technologies. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and a Master's degree in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Daniel also holds certifications in Java and is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
